The Role
Hutcheon and Pearce are searching for an experienced and driven Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Dubbo branch as a Foreman; a candidate who possesses exceptional leadership qualities and seeks to take their career to the next level.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Schedule Work Efficiently – Plan and assign jobs for Service Technicians with adequate notice.

Support & Upskill Technicians – Assist the Service Manager in training and mentoring technicians of all experience levels.

Ensure Quality Control – Review and verify that all completed work meets high standards.

Maintain WHS & Housekeeping – Oversee workshop safety, cleanliness, and service fleet upkeep.

Handle Customer Concerns – Address complaints and escalate issues to the Service Manager when necessary.

Deliver Outstanding Customer Service – Provide prompt, professional, and helpful support.

Foster Strong Teamwork – Build and maintain positive relationships across all branch departments.

Equip Technicians for Success – Ensure staff have the skills, tools, and resources needed to perform their jobs.

Verify Job Accuracy – Review and appraise field job cards to ensure all details are correct.

Quote & Assess Repairs – Perform estimates and evaluations for repair orders.

Maintain & Recommend Tools – Monitor existing tools and suggest new ones as needed.

Coordinate On-the-Job Training – Organise and schedule technician training sessions.

Lead by Example – Participate in repairs and mentor apprentices when needed (Should be on the floor 50% of day).

Keep Customers Informed – Regularly update customers on job progress.
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years experience as a qualified Service Technician
- Qualifications in HV Diesel Mechanics or similar
- Ability to lead, train and coach others and write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
- Fork lift licence preferred (We can help you obtain this).
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet
